Consultancy service for the realization of the safety data sheet relating to hazardous mixtures in conformity with REACH Regulation (Reg. CE N. 1907/2006) and subsequent modifications. The implementation shall take into account the harmonised classification of substances contained in annex VI to CLP Regulation (Reg. CE N. 1272/2008) as amended by Regulation (EC) No. 790/2009.

The safety Data sheet represent the most significant and important technical document for informational purposes on chemicals and/or mixtures, as they represent:

  • An information instrument intended for undertakings to determine whether there are hazardous chemicals in the workplace;
  • The official communication tool of risk management measures (but not only) of substances/mixtures along the supply chain.

New European notification-UFI-:

On March 22, 2017 was published on Reg. (EU) 2017/542 amending Reg. (EU) 1272/2008 (CLP) and constituting annex VIII thereto.

This annex introduces in Europe a very important novelty in terms of notification of hazardous mixtures as it enshrines the activity of harmonising information to be communicated to the competent bodies within the meaning of article 45 of the CLP.

Annex VIII gave rise to the harmonization of the information to be communicated to the competent bodies at the time of the notification of the mixtures.

Among this information that must be communicated, one of the most important is the UFI (unique formula identifier) code, which will have strong impacts on the labelling and safety data sheets of the products entered On the market.

The UFI code is a code that will help poison control centers to identify mixes quickly and unequivocally.

Companies that need to generate UFI codes must use the instrument provided by the European Chemicals Agency. It is available in all the languages of the Union and can be found by clicking here.

The obligation to adapt to the new system of notifications starts from:

  • 01/2020 for products intended for consumption;
  • 01/2021 for products intended for professional use;
  • 01/2022 for products intended for industrial use.

Mixtures which have already been notified, the regulation allows companies to adjust by 2025.

Product labelling

Service of realization and updating of the labelling on the basis of the safety data sheet, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP or CLP Regulation), which entered into force in the European Union on 20 January 2009, constitutes the new EU legislation on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures.
